Dear saints,
I have just finished meeting with Pastor Emil Klatt of Christ Lutheran and Interim Pastor Rick Klutz of Lord of Life Lutheran.
We are going to have a joint observation/celebration of the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation which is being marked world-wide this fall.
Date: Wednesday, October 25
Place: Christ Lutheran
Time: 5:00 worship, followed by dinner
Cost: $10 per person for dinner
Here are the features of the evening:
1) There will be a joint choir of all three congregations. The musician from Christ Lutheran will pick the piece of music. Each congregation's choir can rehearse on their own with a likely joint rehearsal at a date to be established.
2) Pastor Klutz from Lord of Life will preach.
3) Hymn selection will likely include: A Mighty Fortress, Lift High the Cross, In Christ Alone, and The Church's One Foundation.
4) The meal will be coordinated by Christ Lutheran's meal team.
5) Island Lutheran is asked to provide 10 volunteers to help as needed with the dinner.
6) A sign up sheet will be posted in September.
Please put this on your calendar as a great way to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Reformation with our fellow Lutherans.
