Dear Family,

"Have mercy on us, Dear Lord." The Apostle reminds us that all of creation is groaning, longing for the Lord's renewal. (Romans 8) There are surely plenty of examples to confirm the need for renewal and re-creation. Please find the attached document from our group leaders; thank you for praying.  Speaking of prayer, here are a few Family Updates that you will also want to include in your prayers:

  1. Barbara English, who has served the ILC family for many years as custodian, retired as of May 31st. Barbara is looking forward to serving the Lord in new ways; she has been a tremendous gift to the ILC Family. Well done, good and faithful servant! Why don't you take a moment and send her a note of thanks?                                    Barbara's address is: 70 Paddle Boat Ln, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928
  2. We have a new Choir Director!  After prayerful consideration, Michelle Bess, has accepted our ILC Family offer to serve as Choir Director. Michelle brings many gifts and experience to the position; she currently serves as a choir member. Worship Ministry Assistant, Steve White, is ecstatic and has been blessed to work with Michelle in various areas of ministry, including VBS and Worship Ministry.
  3. Another answered prayer:  the Lord has raised up a new Top Dog for the ILC Comfort Dog Ministry. Rachelle Jeffery, after prayerful conversations with ILC Family leaders and Lutheran Church Charities (the national Comfort Dog Host), has been selected to serve as Top Dog. Larry Schlanser, one of our ILC Family Handlers of Zoara, said it well. "That's fantastic news. I was planning to ask Rachelle tomorrow if she felt the Lord's leading her to step forward as Top Dog."  Join us in praising the Lord!
  4. The Lord's Word and Supper continue to be shared among our ILC Family. Check out Sign up Genius on the church website in order to receive the Lord's Supper this weekend: June 6/7. Pastor Zimmerman, along with our ILC Elders and leaders, will be working to ensure we receive Holy Communion in a safe manner.
  5. Much work continues in preparation for June 21st, the first worship services in the building since March. Thanks to the leadership of the ILC Church Council and the efforts of Worship Ministry Assistant, Steve White, we will have live streaming capabilities, possibly by June 21st. Look for more important updates over the next week.
  6. The Dorth family will be arriving within the next two weeks, June 16th. Pastor Jeff is currently in Wisconsin helping Mary get the home ready for the movers. He's checking emails and phone messages, but may not be able to respond immediately. The Elders and Pastor Zimmerman (PZ) are available locally for emergencies.
"Have mercy on us, Lord."  Thank you for taking time to be in devotion and prayer! Amidst the joys, sorrows, and trials of this life, may are blessed to be His Family!
